Dr. Lori Gentile is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) who offers compassionate care to women of all ages at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is dedicated to women’s healthcare, providing support from menstruation through menopause and beyond.
Dr. Gentile is returning to her alma mater in Baton Rouge, where she studied Biological Sciences and minored in English at LSU. Her journey in women’s healthcare began at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA, where she earned her medical degree and discovered her passion for women’s health. She completed her residency training in the field of OB/GYN at LSU Shreveport, gaining extensive experience in women’s healthcare issues and obtaining certification for minimally invasive and robotic gynecological surgery. Additionally, she utilizes Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to promote faster recovery. During her fourth and final year of residency, she was elected and served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Gentile believes in shared decision-making and sees herself as a patient advocate. She emphasizes open communication and is committed to creating a supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing their health concerns and goals. She considers herself not only a physician, but also an educator of maternal health, aiming to empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare.
Outside of work, Dr. Gentile enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and unwinding with a good book.
