Dr. Markeiya Polite Jasper is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist who loves caring for patients and fully educating them about their conditions as well as identifying options that are reflective of an individualized care plan.
Dr. Jasper is a native of New Iberia, LA and considers herself a proud Bayou Belle. The New Iberia Senior High School Valedictorian graduated summa cum laude from Howard University in Washington D.C and was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She returned home to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and completed a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. She went on to work for the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA where her passion for women’s health lead to her complete both her Medical Doctorate and OB-GYN Residency at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center at New Orleans. During her residency training, Dr. Jasper was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received The Carlomagno Award for the chief resident exemplifying the best overall care and compassion in women’s health.
Dr. Jasper is excited to practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and offer minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, adolescent gynecologic care, and both high and low risk obstetric management. Patients can expect a great listener with vast medical knowledge, a kind bedside manner, and a physician who will work with them to provide the best care possible without judgement.
Dr. Jasper is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, the American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, the Menopause Society, Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Medical Association of Southeast Louisiana. Dr. Jasper also holds a clinical faculty appointment at LSU School of Medicine which allows her to continue to teach and provide real-time clinical experiences for medical students and residents.
Outside of work, she enjoys DIY home projects, event planning, mentoring, and spending time with family and friends.
