Dr. Randall Brown is a board certified OB/GYN who currently practices at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge. Dr. Brown specializes in numerous women’s health services and expertly treats the full range of gynecological issues to include heavy periods, urine leakage with coughing and sneezing, endometriosis, pelvic pain, abnormal pap smears, spotting, hot flashes, and hormone therapy. Dr. Brown allows epidurals at any stage of labor, but also supports natural childbirth. He offers elective inductions and C-sections for those patients who prefer that option.
Dr. Brown is a Baton Rouge native who graduated from LSU Medical School in New Orleans in 1987. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in his third year and later went on to the University of Florida in Jacksonville, FL for his residency. Dr. Brown served as Chief Resident his senior year.
Along with serving his patients at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare, Dr. Brown has dedicated 40+ years of his career to prevention of violence against women. Dr. Brown is the Chief Deputy Coroner for sexual assault victims. He is also the Medical Director of the Rape Crisis Center of Baton Rouge. He teaches forensic medical examination at the national level. In 2007, he received the United States Department of Justice Award as the Allied Health Professional of the Year.
Dr. Brown is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and the winner of the National Upjohn Award for excellence in medicine. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Academy of Forensic Science, and the American Board of Forensic Odontology.
Dr. Brown has three daughters and is married to Debbie Brown, a registered nurse.
